blasted heath and wild woods
Dorset's Canford Heath in approaching winter can be a solemn place when first seen.
Wildlife there may be, but recognised only by its spoor leading into tangled woods and sudden bogland where to step with care seems wise.
In not far away Delph woods the water is wider and, from the reflection of tall trees, seemingly much deeper.
Wide spaces and strained sunlight invite you in
and further in, despite encroaching woodland
and natures barriers
where you turn back to find the path has disappeared and in its place
WOODLAND MONSTERS?
Scream!!
(I couldn't spell "aaaaaraaaaaagh!").
